TABAC blazed the trail in tourism development in Nigeria with the development and execution of some select innovative projects. Nonetheless, we recognize that there is still much work to be done to realize the full potential of tourism in Nigeria. TABAC offers a blueprint that accommodates all stakeholders in the tourism matrix, to generate synergy for economic development.

Projects
The Black Heritage Festival
In 2001 we developed the pioneer Black Heritage Festival (BHF) for the Lagos State Government. The flagship project involved turn-key development of a tour package for inbound foreign tourists, mostly from the United States of America, to Nigeria. The central theme of the pioneer project was the slave trade route in Badagry, Lagos State. The Lagos State Government, through the Lagos State Waterfront and Tourism Development Corporation, made substantial investments in the development of infrastructure along the slave trade route. The scope of our company’s services included the development of the project concept, supervision of development/upgrade of tourism assets, sourcing/liaison with foreign delegates, arranging local hotels, transportation, tour guides etc. In 2002 we were commissioned to develop the Epe tourism axis that included Boat Regattas and other tourism assets in the Lekki/Epe axis of Lagos. We welcomed about 40 delegates in 2001 and a similar number in 2002. The tourists visited sites and festivals within and outside Lagos State. (2001, 2002)

Kuramo Beach management and development
We operated a franchise to develop traffic and activities at the Kuramo and Bar Beaches in Lagos, for the Lagos State Government. (2004)
Boat Cruises
We organized Boat Cruises in Lagos territorial Waters for the general public. Magnum Trust Bank and Wema Bank were amongst our partners on this project.(2002 – 2004)
Development of Ajapa Brand
We participated in development of the iconic Ajapa folklore character into a commercial brand, particularly for educational development. Some of the project activities included publication of Ajapa children’s story books and the presentation of a Musical Dance Drama based on one of the Ajapa stories. Our partners included Parable Publications, Magnum Trust Bank and Rhythm of the Black Man (2003 – 2004).
Training of Hotel Staff and Accreditation of Hotels in Ogun State
This project was developed and implemented in preparation for the National Sports Festival (Gateway Games) hosted by Ogun State Government in 2006. In partnership with the Gateway Tourism Development Corporation (GTDC), we carried out training in all the major hotels in Ogun State. We also facilitated accreditation of hotels, in line with international standards. Following the accreditation process, we created an advocacy platform for liaison between the hotels and the State Government, to improve infrastructure and the industry environment (2006).
National Sports Festival
We provided logistic support for the National Sports Festival (Gateway Games) in Ogun State. We carried out capacity building programs in the Hospitality sector and we also developed and presented a youth Calisthenics display at the Opening Ceremony of the Games (2006 ).
Ikogosi Warm Spring
We advanced proposals for the development of the Ikogosi Warm Springs in Ekiti State (1999 – 2001).
OBJ GOLF TOURNAMENT
We developed the maiden edition of the OBJ Golf Tournament in honor of His Excellency, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, former President of Nigeria. The two-day tournament was held at the Abeokuta Golf Club which boasts one of the best golf courses in this part of the world. The Guest of Honor, many dignitaries and leading national golfers participated in the tournament. Our major partners on the project were Celtel (now Airtel) and the Ogun State Government. (2008).
